October?!?!?!

Here I sit on the porch, it's two day until Halloween, and it's about 70*. Almost too hot, but wonderful! Too nice to be inside today. I say this because all too soon, (Next Monday) it's is supposed to get cold, rainy, and snowy in the mountains. uuuggghhh!!!!!

Well another week has ocme and gone. Cammi has two make up soccer games this saturday. at 9am and 1pm, no rest for the weary! Oh and some exciting news!!! Remember when I wrote how disappointed Jessie was that she didn't make allstars? Well out of hte blue last week, Kaylie's t-ball coach called me. She is co coaching an accelerated softball team and they wanted Jessie to come and try out. We are so excited. So she went to practice on Monday, after not having played since early June, and she actually did pretty good. She was right on with her hitting, but she needs a little work with fielding and throwing. The head coach asked me where I thought she was in comparison to where she should/could be. I thought she did pretty good considering it's been 4 months. He agrees, and wants her to come to another practice so they can look at her some more. She knows some of the girls on the team from softball and school, so that was nice. I told her that this was not me, this was another parent who had seen her play the season, and knows she is good, and requested that she come and try out. We are so excited for her to get this chance. So please keep her in your thoughts and prayers! She could really use it eight now. PS the coach commented that she was really good with her hitting!

So long Summer!

We were enjoying some of the few nice weather days before it really gets cold, so we were running the bikes out of gas. Well, it's all fun and games until someone looses an eye!! Poor Rich. His first ride on the little bike and he had to choose to either t bone the car or drop the bike. He chose the latter, and well the picture explains it all!!He ripped his pants and scuffed his arms a little bit, but he got right back on and tried it again. Jessie and Cammi were taking the little kids out for rides too on the Klugers 4 wheelers

What a day! The older girls and I went to the humanitarian center on Tuesday morning to do some service. A friend had called us and they needed help so we went. What an awesome experience! I figured the girls could miss a half day of school for service, and apparently the school felt the same way since they gave the girls an excused absence from their morning classes. Anyways, we got there about 8:15 and started right in. WE had about 9 people in our little group and we were doing hygeine kits. We started out checking kits already done to make sure they had everything in them, Then we got to put kits together, then back to checking, then back to creating. We filled two and a half pallets of boxes with kits. With 5 kits per box, we figured there were approx 600 kits per pallet, so our group in 3 hours did about 1500 kits. It was an incredible experience for us to go and not think about ourselves but to help other people. We are thinking of taking the mosers and doing a family thing and helping more. If you get the chance to go or to volunteer, DO IT!!!! It is so worth it!

TAXI ANYONE?

It's been a few weeks since I last added anything to our blog. It's been busy as usual. Lately though I feel like I have been living in my car. I get home with enough time to grab a bite to eat, make a bathroom run, and then it seems like I am on my way out again! Work has been steady, and with Cammi's soccer games and practices, it feels like I am going non stop. Now add to that... Kaylie is off track so i am keeping her busy too. She is pretty good at keeping quiet when I am working but she always wants to go out to play, and will bug and bug until I say yea or nay.

I have taken on a new project here at home. Our little stream and pond in front has been choking on roots from the cattails and reeds that are growing. So last week I got a little bug in my britches and started digging. Barbara and Shari saw me digging and beating the dirt to death and mercifully came to help me. We made a pretty good team. WE got half of the stream cleaned out. The root base it turns out was about 6 inches deep and spans about 2 feet acrossed. It was so bad that it has pushed past the rock border of the stream and pushed out the stream causing it to leak. It is amazing how much space it really took up. Once we finish the stream I think we will call it good until spring when we can get back in the pond and start pulling out some of the overgrowth there. On a good note though... I thought for sure that I would not even be able to roll out of bed the day after tackling the stream, a lot of bending, digging and heavy lifting. I guess I am not as out of shape as I thought. I was barely sore the next day. I guess all the volleyball I have been playing the last few months has really helped. I am really tired now, and I am sure you are too after reading this epistle. At least it's october and still nice weather!

PS..... Here is a picture of my little garden at the end of July and today. Woo Hoo!!! I didn't kill my plants this year! I even have a little watermelon the size of Kaylie's fist!
